Morningstar is an intentional and visionary filmmaker, who brings an eclectic background across narrative, documentary, and experimental work, having gained hands-on experience in departments such as editing, casting, producing, art, and AD. In addition to directing and producing, Morningstar has edited multiple projects, including the shorts Seeds and Flying Bird’s Diary. These multifaceted experiences shape their distinct approach to storytelling and collaborative leadership.
At every stage of production, they prioritize healthy communication and foster environments where artistry and collaboration thrive, both in front of and behind the camera.
Morningstar Angeline is an alum of the Sundance Institute Indigenous Lab, the NBCU Launch Directors Initiative, and a recipient of the SFFILM Rainin Grant. They have directed three short films Yá’át’ééh Abiní (Good Morning), Can’t Have It Both Ways, and Seeds along with a variety of short-form projects, including music videos and proof-of-concept pieces. They gravitate toward character-driven stories in any genre.
In 2025, Morningstar produced the narrative feature Sky Valley and has produced numerous short films. They have also shadowed Rebecca Asher on Amazon Prime’s Primo, Sydney Freeland on Netflix’s Rez Ball and assisted Zack Snyder on Netflix's Army of the Dead. She also received mentorship from Reservation Dogs creatives Tazbah Chavez and Blackhorse Lowe.
